    Q:
How to service and repair the engine flywheel on Buick Rainier? Posted by Customer
    A:
You must detach the transmission before starting any work on the engine Flywheel service and repair process. Record down both the direction and position of the engine Flywheel before performing demolition work. Peel off the Flywheel bolts before taking out both the bolt and the Flywheel. A thorough examination of the Flywheel should be performed before cleaning it. Threadlock should be applied to the new Flywheel bolts during their installation. Apply new bolts to install the Flywheel before you tighten them progressively to 25 n.m (18 lb ft) in the right order. The torque angle meter (J 36660-A) should be used to extend the bolt tightening to 50 degrees after reaching 25 n.m (18 lb ft) and then reinsert the transmission.

    Q:
How to service and repair the flex plate and replace the engine flywheel on GMC Envoy? Posted by Customer
    A:
Service and repair of the flex plate requires displacing the transmission from its position first. Take note of the position as well as direction of the engine Flywheel before you start removing it. You should first remove the Flywheel bolts before taking out the Flywheel itself. Perform a detailed inspection on the Flywheel while it remains under proper cleaning conditions. The installation of the new Flywheel requires threadlock application to new Flywheel bolts while using appropriate part numbers for all sealers and adhesive and lubricant materials. Fasten the Flywheel in place by using new bolts that need to be tightened sequentially to 25 n.m (18 lb ft). After securing the transmission bolts with 50 degrees of additional turn using the torque angle meter (J 36660-A) reinstall the transmission.
