How to replace the torsion bar and support assembly on Chevrolet Express 1500? Posted by Customer
    A:
First, raise and support the vehicle in order to replace the Torsion Bar and support assembly. Install the tool Torsion Bar unloading/loading (J 36202) onto the adjustment arm and the support. Apply more tension on the adjustment arm down until the load of the adjustment bolt is removed and adjuster nut, where it would be marked with the adjustment bolt and the number of turns taken off. Then remove the adjustment bolt and the adjuster nut, thereafter you can remove the j 36202 in order for the Torsion Bar to unload. Moves the Torsion Bar to move the adjustment arm and holding it with hand as it is released from the Torsion Bar. Refrain the Torsion Bar support bolts and the Torsion Bar support and remember the position of the left and right torsion bars, because they are essential to the tasks. After taking out the torsion bars from the vehicle, install the new torsion bars to the lower Control Arm and the Torsion Bar support, do observe the whole fastener notice in service precautions. Adjust the Torsion Bar support bolts to 95 nm (70 ft. Lbs.). As you move the adjustment arm back, slide the Torsion Bar until it fully years into the adjustment arm with the support of the adjustment arm. Install the j36202 back on the adjustment arm and the support and tighten the tension on the adjustment arm that loads the Torsion Bar and install the adjustment bolt the same number of turns as used in removal. Lastly, install the adjustment bolt and the adjuster nut, remove the j 36202 to reduce the tension on the Torsion Bar till the load is taken up from by the adjustment bolt, lower the vehicle and measure the z height and adjust the z height by circumference the adjustment bolt cyclical chosen to increase or cyclical chosen to reduce.

    Q:
How to replace the torsion bar and support assembly on Chevrolet Express 3500? Posted by Customer
    A:
To remove the Torsion Bar & support assembly, we start by raising & supporting the vehicle. Mount Torsion Bar unloading/loading tool (J 36202) to adjustment arm and the support, but raise the tension of the adjustment arm for releasing the load from the adjustment bolt and the adjuster nut. Mark the adjustment bolt, and note the count to remove it. Then, do away with the adjustment bolt, the adjuster nut, and take the Torsion Bar unloading/loading tool(J 36202) off to let the Torsion Bar unload. Push the Torsion Bar forward to loosen the adjustment arm, which is then to be held by hand as it detaches from the Torsion Bar. Unmount the Torsion Bar support bolts and the Torsion Bar support, making a note of the left and right torsion bars because they are different. To install it, mount the torsion bars on the lower Control Arm and mount the Torsion Bar support and then the Torsion Bar support (fig. 2 bolts) should be tightened to 95 n.m (70 lb ft). In positioning the adjustment arm, slide the Torsion Bar back until it cuts through the adjustment arm completely. Reinstall the Torsion Bar unloading/loading tool (J 36202) to the adjustment arm and the support, and deliver high tension to load the Torsion Bar. Install the adjustment bolt same number of screw as used for the removal and the adjuster nut. Remove the Torsion Bar unloading/ loading tool (J 36202) to relieve none of the Torsion Bar and let the adjustment bolt take up the load and then lower the vehicle. Last but not least, measure the z height and turn the bolt clockwise, to increase it, or counterclockwise, to lower it according to your needs.

    Q:
How to replace the torsion bar and support assembly on Chevrolet Express 2500? Posted by Customer
    A:
Replace the Torsion Bar and support assembly by first supporting and lifting the vehicle. Use j 36202 (Torsion Bar Unloading/Loading Tool) to connect to adjustment arm and support structure before increasing the adjustment arm tension until the adjustment bolt load eliminates from adjuster nut while counting the turns needed until bolt removal. First remove the adjustment bolt and adjuster nut before taking off the j 36202 so the Torsion Bar can unload. While sliding the Torsion Bar towards you remove the adjustment arm. Support its weight with your hand until the arm disconnects from the bar. The first step requires removing the support bolts from the Torsion Bar followed by removal of the Torsion Bar support with careful note taken about the unique positions of left and right torsion bars before extracting them from the vehicle. Position the torsion bars onto lower control arms before installing the Torsion Bar support. Tighten the Torsion Bar support bolts to a torque of 95 nm (70 lb ft). Pull the Torsion Bar backward while holding the adjustment arm to enable full engagement between both components. Reconnect the j 36202 tool to its mounting positions on the adjustment arm and support before adding tension to the arm to properly load the bar by turning the adjustment bolt to the same number of turns used for initial removal. Use the j 36202 to remove the cut-out section and lower the Torsion Bar tension until the adjustment bolt assumes the load. Begin by measuring z height with the vehicle lowered then adjust the bolt with a clockwise motion to increase height or counterclockwise motion to decrease height when required.

How to replace the torsion bar and support assembly on GMC Savana 3500? Posted by Customer
    A:
In order to replace Torsion Bar and support assembly, first lift and then support the vehicle. Mount the Torsion Bar unloading/loading tool (J 36202) to the adjustment arm and the support and then apply more tension to the adjustment arm until the load is taken off the adjustment bolt and adjuster nut. To remove the adjustment bolt, mark it and count the required turns before removing it. Remove the adjustment bolt and the adjuster nut and then remove the Torsion Bar unloading/ loading tool (J 36202) thus to allow the Torsion Bar to unload. Push forward dragging/increasing the Torsion Bar forward, and hold the adjustment arm with your hands while it comes out of the Torsion Bar. Next, unfasten the Torsion Bar support bolts and the Torsion Bar support, also paying attention to the position of the left and right torsion bars since they are different. Take out the torsion bars from the vehicle. For installation, position the torsion bars over the lower Control Arm and install the support for the torsion bars followed by support bolts, which tighten the bolts up to 95 n.m (70 lb ft). While holding on to the adjustment arm, move the Torsion Bar totally into the adjustment arm. Replace the Torsion Bar unloading/loading tool (J 36202) and raise tension on the adjustment arm and arm to load the Torsion Bar. Apply the same number of turns for the adjust bolt as used for removal plus the adjuster nut. Take away the Torsion Bar unloading/loading tool (J 36202) to release the tension on the Torsion Bar up to when the load is reduced by the adjustment bolt. Lastly, drop and measure the vehicle z height, tightening and loosening bolt clockwise for increase or counterclockwise for decrease in z height.

    Q:
How to replace the torsion bar and support assembly on GMC Savana 2500? Posted by Customer
    A:
First, raise and support the vehicle to replace the Torsion Bar and support assembly. Instead, mount the j 36202 (Torsion Bar Unloading/Loading Tool) to the adjustment arm and the support, apply tension on the adjustment arm until the load is lifted from the adjustment bolt and the adjuster nut, and mark the adjustment bolt and count the number of turns during its decommissioning. Remove the adjustment bolt and the nut of the adjuster, then remove the j 36202 and the Torsion Bar shall unload. Slide the Torsion Bar forward and take away the adjustment arm while supporting, then remove the Torsion Bar support bolts and the Torsion Bar support while noting the position of the torsion bars since the left and right bars are not the same. Next, install torsion bars to the lower Control Arm and to the Torsion Bar support by tightening the support bolts to a torque of 95 nm (70 lb ft). While supporting with the adjustment arm, slide the Torsion Bar backward till it ventures completely into the adjustment arm, the j 36202 can then be installed to the adjustment arm and the support with an extra tension so as to load the Torsion Bar. Replace the adjustment bolt to the same turns removed along with the adjuster nut. Break the j 36202 removing the Torsion Bar tension by adjusting the bolt load until it is held in the adjustment bolt then let the vehicle drop down. Lastly, measure z height and move the adjustment bolt clockwise to achieve an increase or counterclockwise for a decrease in the z height.
