    To get to the BCM , you should first take off the right side knee bolster trim panel. Before removing the BCM , make sure to disconnect the wiring and move the retaining tabs away from the bracket. When installing, set the BCM into the bracket with the retaining tabs holding it in place, attach the connectors to the BCM , and fit the right side knee bolster trim panel in place. If a new BCM has been put in, it must be programmed.

Connectors powering the BCM need disconnection before removing tabs which secure the BCM to the bracket and extracting the BCM from the vehicle. To install the BCM position it into its bracket while ensuring retention under tabs and resume connection of electrical connectors to the BCM. You must reinstall the right side knee bolster trim panel after the program. The BCM needs programming after a replacement. Program the BCM as necessary.

    Knock the right side knee bolster trim panel free before starting to replace the Body Control Module (BCM). Detach the BCM electrical connectors then unlock all tabs holding the BCM to its support before you take out the BCM unit from your vehicle. Position the BCM into its bracket slots until retaining tabs latch and connect all power cables to their designated BCM ports before putting back the right side knee bolster trim panel. Install the new BCM then refer to Control Module References to set up and program the part properly.

    Disconnect the bcm replacement project from the bcm by opening the convertible top while also leaving the Ignition Switch in the off position. Before work start disconnect the battery negative terminal and detach the rear upper garnish molding. Move the floor console forward to free access the bcm electrical connectors. Take off the two retainer tabs holding the bcm mounting bracket to the console bracket then one tab more and pull out the complete unit from the frame. Remove the bcm from its vehicle position by disconnecting five connectors including gray, white, black, blue, and brown. To take out the mounting bracket from the bcm just push the retention clips open. Rephrase the following sentence. When using a replacement bcm, mount the bracket to the bcms body while making sure the retaining tabs sit fully against the surface. Join the brown connector , blue connector , black connector , white connector , gray connector to the bcm. Place the bcm set with bracket on top of the console bracket then put in the tab that locks the mounting bracket before adding the remaining two tabs to secure the bcm bracket. Install the floor console and rear upper garnish panel then reconnect the battery power and set up any new bcm if needed. Finally, close the convertible top.

Insert the BCM into its bracket so the tabs extend underneath the retainers and connect the power connectors to BCM before reinstalling the right side knee bolster trim panel. Set up the new BCM as needed after installation.
