    Q:
How to replace the left side engine mount on GMC Sierra 1500 Classic? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step for left side Engine Mount replacement requires managers to remove Engine Mount to Engine Mount Bracket bolts. Begin with raising the vehicle while providing suitable support and proceed to remove the oil pan skid plate bolts together with the plate. An adjustable jack positioned on the square tab at the engine block rear should be used to raise the engine before eliminating the Engine Mount bolts. The Engine Mount removal must be followed by side bracket bolts when the bracket is present. Before continuing you should remove both Engine Mount Bracket bolts as well as the bracket itself. To begin installation start by putting in the Engine Mount Bracket but first remove all original adhesive(patch) then wipe clean the bolt threads with denatured alcohol or equivalent solution before applying threadlocker gm p/n 12345382 (Canadian P/N 10953489) or equivalent to the bolts. Fasten the Engine Mount Bracket bolts until they reach 75 nm (55 ft. Lbs.) torque. Position the side bracket to the engine before installing its bolts with 50 nm (37 ft. Lbs.) torque setting. After mounting the engine to its place you should tighten all bolts to 50 nm (37 ft. Lbs.). Lower the engine before installing the oil pan skid plate and its bolts with a torque setting of 20 nm (15 ft. Lbs.). Complete the procedure by lowering the vehicle then installing the Engine Mount to Engine Mount Bracket bolts while applying a torque of 65 nm (48 ft. Lbs.).
