For the ly7 engine (VIN 7 W/O Direct Fuel Injection), we have to swap the generator bracket first by turning the ignition off and taking out the generator. Turn the ignition OFF and remove the generator.

Reinstall the belt tensioner, the coolant inlet pipe lower bolt from the generator bracket, and finally the generator.

Remove the generator bracket bolts and then the generator bracket itself.

Take off the right side engine mount bracket and the generator bracket bolts.

First, tighten the generator bracket bolts to 50 N.m (37 lb in), then tighten the generator bracket bolt to 23 N.m (17 lb in).

Attach the generator bracket to the engine and secure it with the generator bracket bolts, tightening them in the specified sequence to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

Reinstall the belt tensioner, followed by the coolant inlet pipe lower bolt from the generator bracket, and finally, reinstall the generator.

Reconnect the battery negative cable.

Tighten the generator bracket bolts (1, 2) to 50 Nm (37 lb ft) and the generator bracket bolt to 23 Nm (17 lb ft).

Reinstall the belt tensioner, then the coolant inlet pipe lower bolt from the generator bracket, and finally, reinstall the generator.
