    Q:
How to replace the positive battery cable (With LU3) on Chevrolet Silverado 1500? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step to install the positive Battery Cable (With LU3) is to remove the negative Battery Cable. After removing the under hood junction block cover you should raise the junction block retainers from their locked position until they reach the open position before extracting the junction block. The next procedure requires disconnecting the positive Battery Cable connector from the underhood bussed electrical center (UBEC) before removing the mega Fuse cover. Remove the nut securing the starter solenoid cable before detaching its terminal from the mega Fuse stud. Proceed to detach the positive Battery Cable channel and clips from plenum front panel studs then remove the positive cable terminal from the mega Fuse stud. Remove the positive Battery Cable from the vehicle as the last step. Begin installation by placing the positive Battery Cable into the vehicle while connecting it to the mega Fuse stud followed by reinstalling the positive Battery Cable channel and clips that attach to the plenum front panel. Reinstall the starter solenoid cable terminal onto the mega Fuse stud and secure its nut tightly at 9 nm (80 lb in). Affix the positive Battery Cable connector into the ubec while changing the mega Fuse cover. The junction block retainer mechanisms need to be open when you line the junction block against the 4 bracket pivots then engage the pivots to lower the retainer into its locked position. Afterwards replace the under hood junction block cover while completing the connection of the negative Battery Cable.
