    Q:
How to replace the positive battery cable on Cadillac Escalade? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step to replace the positive battery cable requires disconnecting the negative battery cable. Unlock and open the junction block retainers before removing the cover that protects the under hood junction block. The technician should move the junction block into position before removing the positive battery cable connector from the underhood bussed electrical center (UBEC). Begin by taking out the mega fuse cover and afterward disconnecting the generator battery jumper cable to mega fuse nut and the generator battery jumper cable terminal from the mega fuse stud. The positive battery cable channel must be removed from plenum front panel studs using its clips while taking out the positive battery cable terminal from the mega fuse stud. Reposition the positive battery cable inside the vehicle while connecting its terminal to the mega fuse stud. Attache the positive battery cable clips onto the plenum front panel studs before installing the generator battery jumper cable terminal onto the mega fuse stud. Fasten the generator battery jumper cable to mega fuse nut until it reaches 9 Nm torque before adding the mega fuse cover and the positive battery cable connector which connects to the UBEC. After opening the junction block retainers place the junction block correctly onto the 4 bracket pivots before pushing down the retainer to reach its locked position. After installing the under hood junction block cover you should complete the negative battery cable reinstallation.
