    Q:
How to replace the left rear parking brake cable on Cadillac STS? Posted by Customer
    A:
The procedure for left rear parking brake cable replacement begins with vehicle elevation and wheel assembly removal. The intermediate park brake cable must be pulled down near its park brake connector in order to break the connection between them. You should disconnect the left rear park brake cable from the equalizer then rely on the J 37043 (Parking Brake Cable Release Tool) to press the left rear park brake cable retainer. First detach the left rear park brake cable from its linkage with the left rear park brake cable support bracket and remove it from the left rear park brake actuator lever . The J 37043 depression of the left rear park brake cable retainer allows removal of the support bracket. To install the replacement left rear park brake cable you must first fit it to the left rear park brake cable bracket by proper seating of all locking tabs. Install the left rear park brake cable by connecting it to the left rear actuator lever while also connecting it to the left rear support mounting bracket where locking tabs must fully seat properly. You should join the left rear park brake cable with the equalizer along with the intermediate park brake cable with the park brake cable connector . Lower the vehicle, reinstall the left rear tire and wheel assembly and apply enough pressure to the park brake pedal one to two times until the retainers completely seat.
