The left rear park brake cable requires separation from the equalizer before installation using the J 37043 (Parking Brake Cable Release Tool) which allows depression of the left rear park brake cable retainer. Deploy the J 37043 to press down the retainer and then remove the left rear park brake cable from its support bracket . The left rear park brake actuator lever still remains connected to the cable thus it must be unlocked from the parking brake lever using J 37043. Fill the new left rear park brake cable into the left rear park brake cable bracket while verifying the locking tabs reach their proper seating position. Secure the cable to each end by placing the left rear park brake actuator lever and left rear support mounting bracket while making sure the locking tabs should be adequately seated. Fasten the left rear park brake cable through the equalizer before connecting it to the park brake cable connector as you connect the intermediate park brake cable with the park brake cable connector.
