    Q:
How to replace the rear brake calipers on Chevrolet S10? Posted by Customer
    A:
After lifting the vehicle you must take off the tire and wheel before working on the brake caliper. Unfasten and separate the brake hose from the Brake Caliper Bolt while taking out any stuck metal gaskets on the hose ends and caliper surface. Seal the front brake hose opening using a rubber plug to keep brake fluid from leaking and getting contaminated. Separate the brake caliper from the caliper anchor bracket through its guide pin bolts. When you reuse the brake caliper pin bolts and retainers clean them with denatured alcohol before drying them with filtered compressed non-lubricated air. Put high-temperature silicone brake lubricant on brake caliper bolts except for brake pad hardware areas. Place the brake caliper on its bracket mount and attach it with brake caliper bolts before tightening them to 23 ft. Lbs. To attach the new metal brake hose gasket use a 44 nm torque setting during installation with the bolt. Let out the hydraulic brake fluid then put back the tire and wheel while lowering the car.
