    Q:
How to replace the ABS Control Module on Chevrolet Blazer? Posted by Customer
    A:
A proper replacement of the ABS Control Module (ABSCM) requires complete cleaning of the region surrounding the Electronic Hydraulic Control Unit (EHCU) to stop contamination of removed ABS components. Start by unplugging electrical connectors from the ABSCM then remove its retention using four T 25-TORX® mounting screws connected to Brake Pressure Modulator Valve (BPMV). A tool must not be used to carefully remove the ABSCM component from the BPMV assembly. Prior to installation clean the surfaces where BPMV and ABSCM will mount using a fresh cloth. New mounting screws should be utilized for ABSCM installation because old screws are not reusable. It is essential to avoid applying RTV and all other sealants when working at the ABSCM gasket and mating areas. Mount the ABSCM onto its position on the BPMV before installing the four new T-25 TORX® screws which must be tightened to 5 Nm (39 inch lbs.) with an X-pattern. End the procedure by reconnecting ABSCM electrical connectors then perform tire calibration revisions through the Tire Size Calibration function in the Scan Tool.

    Q:
How to replace the ABS Control Module on GMC Jimmy? Posted by Customer
    A:
Starting the ABS Control Module replacement process requires complete cleaning of the area containing the Electronic Hydraulic Control Unit (EHCU) to avoid contaminating disassembled ABS components. The ABS Control Module requires you to disconnect its electrical connectors before using a T-25 TORX tool to remove the four mounting screws which hold the ABS Control Module to the Brake Pressure Modulator Valve (BPMV). Without using tools as a prying device, remove the ABS Control Module from the BPMV. The mounting surfaces of the BPMV must be cleaned by wiping them with a new cloth. As part of the new ABS Control Module installation, keep the old screws from reuse by using four fresh T-25 TORX(R) screws and follow the 5 Nm (39 inch lbs.) torque value in an X-shaped pattern. Reconnect the electrical connectors while performing a new tire calibration through the Scan Tool Tire Size Calibration function to set the correct tire size parameters for the vehicle on the new ABS Control Module.
