Propositions must remain clean during the service of fuel system components. A first step should be to depressurize the fuel system. The service procedure starts with modular fuel sender assembly removal then extraction of the Fuel Level Sensor from this component. Installation begins with fitting the Fuel Level Sensor onto the modular fuel sender before final attachment of the fuel sender assembly. First tighten the fuel filler cap and then restore the negative cable of the battery. To check for fuel leaks inspect the system after you turn the ignition switch on for 2 seconds followed by a 10-second period with it off and then a reactivation of the ignition to inspect for fuel leaks.

The proper servicing of the Fuel Level Sensor requires clean handling of all fuel system parts. The first step should involve draining pressure from the fuel system. The first step requires removal of the modular fuel sender assembly followed by separation of the Fuel Level Sensor from the modular fuel sender. First install the Fuel Level Sensor to the modular fuel sender before performing fuel sender assembly reinstallation. Open the fuel fill cap before tightening it and afterward return the negative Battery Cable into place. Check for fuel leaks by activating the ignition for 2 seconds followed by pairing off the ignition for ten seconds and completing with another 2-second ignition cycle. Install the fuel injection sight shield after the procedure completion.

A proper service of the Fuel Level Sensor needs battery disconnection to guarantee protection and keep working areas tidy during fuel system maintenance. A proper release of fuel system pressure follows the fuel pressure relief procedure. The next step includes taking out the fuel sender assembly together with removing the Fuel Level Sensor from it. When inserting the Fuel Level Sensor it should be attached to the fuel sender assembly before reinstalling the assembly. No leakage should occur when you properly tighten the fuel filler cap while reconnecting the negative Battery Cable. To determine fuel leak presence turn on ignition for two seconds before turning it off for ten seconds and then turn the ignition back on while inspecting for any leak indicators.

Cleaning of fuel system components should start before servicing the Fuel Level Sensor. The first step requires following the fuel pressure relief procedure to release fuel system pressure. Begin the procedure by taking out the modular fuel sender assembly then separating the Fuel Level Sensor from it. The installation requires attaching the Fuel Level Sensor to the modular fuel sender followed by fuel sender assembly re-installation. Secure the fuel fill cap and establish the negative cable connection. Inspect the fuel system for leaks through a procedure of turning on the ignition for 2 seconds and holding it off for 10 seconds before confirming any leakage when turning it on again. Install the fuel injection sight shield as your last task.

The first step for replacing the Fuel Level Sensor involves removing the Fuel Tank with caution to not touch the fuel pipes which helps prevent joint damage to the Fuel Level Sensor. New fuel system contamination should be avoided through complete cleaning of fuel pipe and hose connections and their surrounding areas. The quick-connect fittings at the Fuel Level Sensor need removal before you can use the fuel sender lock nut wrench (J 39765) to take off the retaining ring. Prior to extraction of the Fuel Level Sensor and seal from the Fuel Tank you must drain fuel into a prepared safety container while maintaining fire prevention measures. The first Fuel Level Sensor seal must be thrown away before cleaning both sealing surfaces. The new Fuel Level Sensor seal should be placed onto the Fuel Tank while the gasket needs to be installed right away to stop fuel leaks from occurring. The installation of the new Fuel Level Sensor should be done by maintaining the straightness of the Fuel Pump Strainer so fuel flow remains unobstructed and the float arm can move without restriction. Reinstall the retaining ring by using the fuel sender lock nut wrench then correct all quick-connect fittings before installing the Fuel Tank.

Attach the fuel level sensor to the modular fuel sender.

Attach the fuel level sensor to the fuel sender assembly.

Turn the ignition on for 2 seconds, off for 10 seconds, and then on again, checking for any fuel leaks.

Secure the harness with the retaining clip.

Disconnect the fuel level sensor electrical connector.

Place the new fuel level sensor into the fuel sender.

Cleanliness.

Remove the fuel sender assembly.

The modular fuel sender assembly will spring up.

Reinstall the fuel sender assembly.

Reinstall the fuel level sensor to the modular fuel sender.

The fuel feed and return pipes, as well as the evaporative emission (EVAP) pipe.

Install the fuel sender assembly.

Reinstall the fuel sender assembly.
