The process of front door exterior handle replacement starts by raising the window fully before removing the front door trim panel. After the initial actions extract the water deflector before removing the lock rods which secure the lock. You need to separate the rear run channel from the door before removing nuts and the bracket through which the outside Door Handle secures to the door. Proceed by removing the Door Handle located on the exterior side. Start by mounting the outside Door Handle on the door then proceed to attach the installation nuts and bracket to fully secure the handle. Tighten the retaining nuts to 11 n.m (97 lb in). You should reinstall the rear run channel before mounting the lock rods to the lock. Install the water deflector after placing back the front door trim panel.

Position the new rear door inside handle onto the right rear door and attach the lock rods to it.

Secure the handle by installing the rivet at the rear edge and reinstall the right side rear door trim panel.

Reconnect the lock rods to the lock and reinstall the right side rear door trim panel.

Raise the window completely and remove the front door trim panel.

Disconnect the lock rods from the handle and fully remove the handle.

Detach the rear run channel from the door and remove the nuts and the bracket that secure the outside door handle to the door.

Press on the sliding side door inside handle to engage the retaining clip.

Install the nuts and the bracket to secure the handle.

Begin by pressing the retaining tab on the inside door handle bezel to release it from the front door trim plate.

Reattach the lock rods to the lock and reinstall the right side rear door trim panel.

First, remove the right side rear door trim panel.

Secure the rivet to the inside door handle.

Remove the rivet located at the rear edge of the rear door inside handle and slide the handle forward to detach it from the right rear door.

Use a center punch to remove the center of the rivets, then drill out the rivet from the inside door handle with a 6.35 mm (1/4 in) drill bit.

Remove the sliding door lower trim panel.

Take out the inside door handle from the door inner panel, followed by the lock rod and door handle rod from the inside door handle.

Remove the outside handle itself.

Reattach the lock rods to the lock and finally reinstall the right side rear door trim panel.

Place the sliding side door inside handle back into the vehicle.

Detach the lock rods from the lock and remove the rear run channel from the door.

Place the sliding side door inside handle back into the vehicle.

Tighten them to 11 Nm (97 lb in).

Remove the lock rods from the handle.

Use the Door Handle Clip Remover (J 9886-01) to release the retaining clip on the sliding side door inside handle.

Position the inside door handle bezel onto the vehicle.

Install the nuts and bracket to secure it, tightening the retaining nuts to 11 N.m (97 lb in).

Position the sliding side door outside handle onto the door, ensuring to follow the Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Ensure the retaining nuts are tightened to 11 N.m (97 lb in).

Reattach the lock rods to the lock and finally, reinstall the right side rear door trim panel.

Align the handle with the slots in the door module and slide it rearward to engage it.

Position the new latch handle onto the door and secure it with the nuts, tightening them to 11 N.m (97 lb in).
