To begin removal of the lock cylinder rod players should first free its retainer from the rod then extract the rod from the handle assembly. You must begin by taking out two door handle retaining nuts then removing the handle assembly from the door. A separate procedure exists for removing the lock cylinder when it is present on the handle. Begin by installing the lock cylinder to the handle and afterward secure the handle assembly to the door. Secure the handle assembly lock rod with the lock rod retainer for upper rod installation. Mount the lock cylinder rod to the handle assembly after which you must tie it down with the cylinder lock rod retainer . Careful handling of fasteners will prevent vehicle damage during installation. To complete the installation tighten the two door handle retaining nuts to 10 Nm (88 lb in) before reattaching the rear deflector half and placing the door trim panel.
