    Q:
How to replace the A/C Hose in an evaporator system on Chevrolet Silverado 3500? Posted by Customer
    A:
Replacement of the evaporator tube begins with recovering the refrigerant from the A/C system. Start by taking out the nut from the evaporator tube then proceed to remove the tube from the evaporator. The right park/turn signal lamp as well as the grille must be removed from the vehicle. You must start by removing the evaporator tube nut from the condenser before taking out the evaporator tube from the condenser then finally taking out the evaporator tube from the vehicle. All used sealing washers need to be discarded before properly sealing open connections. Use new sealing washers to join the evaporator tube to the condenser followed by installation of the evaporator tube nut to the condenser and tightenable to 16 N.m (12 lb ft). Install the right park/turn signal lamp as well as the grille before connecting the evaporator tube to the evaporator using the evaporator tube nut set at 16 N.m (12 lb ft). The final step includes system evacuation and recharging procedures followed by leak detection of all component fittings through the Halogen Leak Detector (J 39400-A).
