A/C Hoses

The first step to change the air conditioning evaporator tube (LLV, LLR) (2.9L, 3.7L) includes recovering system refrigerant before starting. Start by unfastening the evaporator tube nut from the txv stud followed by extracting the evaporator tube from the txv before detaching it from the fender retaining clips. First disconnect the condenser grille then take off the evaporator tube retaining clip before unscrewing the evaporator tube attaching bolt located at the receiver dehydrator and finally separate the evaporator tube. Discard the o-ring seal. The installation requires insertion of a new o-ring seal before placing the evaporator tube back into position. Vehicle damage can occur so fasteners need special attention during installation. Tighten the bolt at the receiver dehydrator to 28 nm (21 lb ft) before securing it and mount the evaporator tube retaining clip at the condenser front. After repositioning the grille you must connect the evaporator tube to the retaining clips mounted on the fender and attach it to the txv. Secure the evaporator tube nut by fixing it to the txv stud. As the last step complete the a/c system evacuation and recharging followed by using the j 39400-a halogen leak detector for component fitting leak detection.

Replacement of discharge hoses for hvac applications requires a preliminary step of recovering refrigerant when using systems with the capacity of llv - 2.9l or llr - 3.7l. Next, remove the generator. Begin by removing the discharge hose mounting bolt of the A/C Compressor and completing the hose removal from the compressor. The procedures start with removing first the discharge hose bolt from the condenser before moving to remove the discharge hose from the condenser and finishing with the discharge hose removal from the vehicle. The process includes discarding sealing washers used in the system and applying caps to the system openings. New sealing washers should be used before attaching the discharge hose to the condenser. Afterwards, install the discharge hose bolt to the condenser and tighten it to 16 n.m (12 lb ft). Fasten the discharge hose to the A/C Compressor using new sealing washers followed by installation of the discharge hose mounting bolt onto the A/C Compressor and secure it to 16 n.m (12 lb ft). You need to reposition the generator before conducting an a/c system evacuation while performing recharging before utilizing the halogen leak detector (J 39400-A) for fittings leak checks.

The first step to replace the suction hose for llv - 2.9l and llr - 3.7l requires the recovery of refrigerant. Next, remove the generator. Start by removing the suction hose mounting bolt from the A/C Compressor and afterwards separating the suction hose from the compressor. First detach the txv stud nut before taking the suction hose off the txv. The suction hose assembly of the vehicle should be removed followed by discarding used sealing washers and system opening caps. The first step for installation requires attachment of the new suction hose to the vehicle by using proper sealing washers. Begin by mounting the suction hose to the txv then fasten the nut onto the txv stud while torquing it to 16 n.m (12 lb ft). Using new sealing washers install the suction hose to the A/C Compressor along with securing the suction hose mounting bolt to the A/C Compressor by tightening it to 16 n.m (12 lb ft). After installation of the generator complete the a/c system evacuation and recharging procedure. The halogen leak detector (J 39400-A) should be used to check for leaks in the component fittings during the final step of the process.

Remove the grille.

Remove the discharge hose mounting bolt from the A/C compressor, followed by the discharge hose from the A/C compressor.

Reinstall the evaporator tube, securing it with the bolt to the receiver dehydrator, and tighten the nut to 28 N.m (21 lb ft).

Install the evaporator tube.

Discard all used sealing washers and cap the system openings.

Remove the nut from the TXV stud and then take off the suction hose from the TXV.

Next, remove the generator.

Connect the suction hose to the TXV, ensuring to install the nut onto the TXV stud and tighten it to 16 Nm (12 lb ft).
