Take out the cooling fan motor.

Hold the fan blade to prevent rotation and use the GE-47827 socket to turn the fan motor drive plate clockwise until it disengages.

Remove and discard the fan blade, then tape off all entry points to the cooling fan motor to prevent debris from entering.

Reconnect the cooling fan motor electrical connector(s), install the cooling fan heat shield(s), and finally, reinstall the cooling fan assembly.
