Start by disconnecting the Fuel Rail assembly but ensure no damage happens to the pin or the nozzle of the Fuel Injector then refrain from placing the electrical component in any cleaner because doing so could harm it. The Fuel Injector leak can cause engine oil to mix with fuel during the service and repair procedures. Separate the Fuel Injector harness connector before removing the retainer clip and extracting the Fuel Injector out from the Fuel Rail while discarding both the retainer clip and injector o-ring seals (2, 4) from both sides of the injector. Check the application when getting new fuel injectors because the Fuel Injector assembly displays a part number identification together with a four-digit build date code which shows the manufacturing month, day, year, and shift. The installation begins with cleaned engine oil on new injector o-ring seals (2, 4) before placing them on the injector followed by new retainer clip installation on the injector. Complete the install by inserting the Fuel Injector into the Fuel Rail injector socket with the retaining clip locked onto a flange on the socket while maintaining the electrical connector facing outward.

Start the Fuel Injector servicing process by mindfully unmounting the fuel injectors to protect electrical connector pins and nozzles before maintaining the nearby components away from any cleaning solutions because the injector works as an electrical feature which can be impaired by water. The operation of fuel injectors leads to possible engine oil contamination through leakage. The service begins by removing the Fuel Rail assembly and after that disconnect the harness connector from each injector. The removal process begins with taking out both the retainer clip and Fuel Injector from the Fuel Rail while discarding the retainer clip. Both ends of the injector require removal and disposal of the o-ring seals marked as (2, 4). New fuel injectors require the selection of proper parts according to application requirements since Fuel Injector assemblies include part number identification and a four-digit build date code showing the month and day and year and production shift. Introduce new injector o-ring seals (2,4) to engine oil lubrication before positioning them onto the injector followed by installation of a fresh retainer clip. Insert the Fuel Injector into the Fuel Rail injector socket by directing the electrical connector outward while the retainer clip secures itself to the flange of the Fuel Rail injector socket before you replace the Fuel Rail assembly.

Lubricate the new injector O-ring seals with clean engine oil and install them on the injector, followed by a new retainer clip.

Disable the vehicle fuel pump, disconnect the fuel feed and return lines, and plug them using the appropriate shut-off valves.

Add one ounce of Port Fuel Injector Cleaner (GM P/N 12345104 or Canadian P/N 10953467) for each gallon of gasoline in the tank.

Lightly lubricate the new O-ring seals with GM P/N 9981704, then install them on the fuel injector.
