Oil Pan

During an allison automatic transmission Oil Pan replacement start by raising the vehicle then measuring the transmission fluid drainage amount since usable fluid can get reused. First remove the Drain Plug and Drain Plug seal from the Oil Pan to empty the fluid to a suitable container before checking the drained fluid. Conclude Oil Pan removal by eliminating 12 mounting bolts under pan maintenance before removing both the Oil Pan plus gasket . Check the magnet for substantial metal debris because high numbers of particles would require either transmission maintenance or component replacement. You should keep the transmission internal oil filter and seal untouched when performing a simple replacement or repair of the Oil Pan and gasket. The replacement process for the transmission filter requires users to pull it downward from the suction tube located inside the case before discarding the old gasket seal. First remove all gasket residue from the transmission case before taking out any scratches or signs of leaking. Fit a new seal to the transmission internal oil filter tube and position the filter and its seal into the transmission case seal bore. Place gasket material on the Oil Pan while the installation begins with guide bolts into opposing corners of its mounting face and proceed to line up bolt holes. Drive the gasket along with the Oil Pan onto the guide bolts before fastening it with 2 bolts. After removing the guide bolts install the other 10 Oil Pan bolts with torque at 27 n.m (20 lb ft). Drain the plug seal before tightening it with 35 n.m (26 lb ft) torque and return the vehicle to the floor. Put dexron(R)vi automatic transmission fluid into the transmission while recognizing that parts of fluid stayed behind in external circuits and transmission cavities after draining. Check the current transmission fluid level as the last step.
