The first step to replace the Radiator of a 4.3l engine begins with draining the cooling system. The first task involves moving the Radiator clamp on the coolant recovery hose and disconnecting the hose through its reservoir. Radiator inlet hose clamp relocation and hose removal is accomplished using the hose clamp pliers (J 38185). After removing the Fan Shroud you will reposition the Radiator outlet hose clamp with hose clamp pliers (J 38185). Take out engine oil cooler lines together with transmission oil cooler lines from the Radiator as the last step to extract the Radiator. The first step for installation is to inspect the rubber mounts prior to inserting the new Radiator. Affix first the new transmission oil cooler lines and engine oil cooler line onto the Radiator before adding the Radiator outlet hose. You must use hose clamp pliers (J 38185) to adjust the Radiator outlet hose clamp position and afterward secure the Fan Shroud followed by the Radiator inlet hose before readjusting the Radiator inlet hose clamp through hose clamp pliers (J 38185). After connecting the coolant recovery reservoir hose you should reposition its clamp before beginning the cooling system filling process.

Engine maintenance starts with draining coolant from the system and moving the coolant recovery hose clamp to another position on the Radiator. Use hose clamp pliers (J 38185) to move the Radiator inlet hose clamp and remove the Radiator inlet hose afterwards. Start by removing the engine oil cooler lines along with transmission oil cooler lines from the Radiator followed by Radiator removal. Lay the new Radiator into place before installing the transmission oil cooler lines and the engine oil cooler line. Use hose clamp pliers (J 38185) to place the Radiator outlet hose clamp before reattaching the hose. The new Fan Shroud receives installation followed by attaching the Radiator inlet hose to which you fasten the hose clamppliers (J 38185). To finish the installation you should connect the coolant recovery reservoir hose and reposition its clamp before filling the cooling system.

Finish the process by attaching the coolant recovery reservoir hose before placing its clamp in position and performing the cooling system fill operation.
