    Q:
How to replace the rear wheel bearing/hub assembly on a disc brake system on Chevrolet Cobalt? Posted by Customer
    A:
You must lift and stabilize the vehicle before taking apart the tire and wheel assembly to replace the rear Wheel Bearing hub assembly in disc brake systems. First disconnect the hydraulic brake flex hose then take out the rear brake caliper and bracket assembly together with the bracket. Afterward detach and remove the rear brake rotor. Take off the Wheel Bearing hub assembly nuts by first disconnecting the Wheel Speed Sensor electrical connector. Pull out the Wheel Bearing and hub unit along with the brake plate backing from the rear axle structure. Align the Wheel Bearing/hub assembly with the Brake Backing Plate onto the rear axle assembly but always follow the fastener notice first. Secure the Wheel Bearing/hub assembly nuts to the axle with equal lots connecting in a cross-direction and turn until they reach 45 nm (33 ft-lbs) and add an extra 30 degrees torque. Set the Wheel Speed Sensor electrical connector in place and put on both brake rotor and brake caliper including its bracket. After installing all parts return the tire and wheel back to the vehicle while lowering it to the ground.

    Q:
How to replace the rear wheel bearing and hub on Chevrolet HHR? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step to work on the rear Wheel Bearing and hub starts with raising the vehicle to a stable position. Take off the wheel unit from the vehicle body. During suspension maintenance tasks you can work on other components while keeping the brake assemblies assembled and put them safe on the side. You should first uninstall the rear Brake Drum when present then proceed by taking off the rear brake rotor if it is included. You should separate the Wheel Bearing/hub assembly by removing the mounting nuts and disconnecting it from the Trailing Arm and Brake Backing Plate. Use a tool to disconnect the wheel speed sensor electrical wires from their connection point on the Wheel Bearing/hub assembly. Reattach the wheel speed sensor electrical connector to the Wheel Bearing/hub assembly before you put it inside both the Trailing Arm and Brake Backing Plate. Fasten the Wheel Bearing/hub nuts at 45 nm (33 lb ft) before turning them with the j 45059 torque angle meter for 30 more degrees. Reinstall the rear brake components when your setup includes them. Put the tire and wheel unit in place and take away the support before you lower the automobile.
