    Q:
How to replace the Rocker Shaft Spring Kit and Valve Stem Oil Seal on the left side on Cadillac SRX? Posted by Customer
    A:
The initial step for replacing the left-side valve stem oil seal and valve spring requires you to remove the rocker arms and Starter motor. The procedure consists of installing the en-46106 - flywheel holding tool for crankshaft control and subsequently removing the Spark Plug from its cylinder placement and attaching the en-39313 - spark plug port adapter to compressed air. Position the en-46110 - on-vehicle valve spring compressor above the targeted cylinder then tighten its nut. Use the valve spring compressor on the left side to remove valve keepers and loosen the compressor nut and retrieve the valve spring retainer and valve spring. The en-46116 - valve stem seal remover/installer device provides the tool necessary for removing and installing valve stem seals. Install new valve stem seal with en-46116 - remover/installer then put in valve spring and retainer. Begin by tightening the en-46110 - compressor's nut before reattaching valve spring keepers. Disconnect the compressor and remove the en-39313 - adapter from the air source before taking out the adapter. To finish the process reinstall both the spark plugs and rocker arms while removing the en-46106 - tool before fitting the Starter motor.
