    Q:
How to clean fuel injectors on Buick LeSabre? Posted by Customer
    A:
The tools required to cleanse fuel injectors include the Fuel Line Shut-Off Adapters (J 37287) and Fuel Injector Cleaner (J 38500-A) and 3/8 Inch and 5/16 Inch Fuel Line Shut-Off Adapters (J42873-1 and J42873-2 and J42964-1 and J42964-2). The recommended cleaner for fuel injectors is GM Top-Engine Cleaner (GM P/N 12346535 for US dealers or Canadian P/N 992872 for Canadian dealers). Apply this solution without adding it to the fuel tank and maintain the solution strength below 10 percent. Use the injector cleaning tank to combine regular unleaded gasoline with 960 mL (32.4 oz) cleaning solution for the procedure. Follow these steps to disconnect the fuel pump by plugging the fuel rail lines with correct shut-off adapters. The Fuel Injector Cleaner (J 38500-A) should be connected to the fuel rail before the system receives pressure to 510 kPa (75 psi) and the engine should continue operating until it quits. To complete this procedure reconnect the fuel lines then let the engine run for two further minutes until idle. To identify and replace the injector with the lowest pressure drop the technician must perform the balance test on all injectors. Each gallon of gasoline should receive a one-ounce addition of Port Fuel Injector Cleaner GM P/N 12345104 or Canadian P/N 10953467 into the fuel tank with instructions for the customer to employ GM Port Fuel Injector Cleaner at regular intervals to avoid future issues. Driving the car will demonstrate that the repair addressed the customer-described problem.

    Q:
How to replace a fuel injector on Buick LeSabre? Posted by Customer
    A:
Start by removing the Fuel Rail onto which you should detach the Fuel Injector retaining clips and extract the fuel injectors. Follow these steps for removing the Fuel Injector upper o-ring together with lower o-ring and o-ring back up while keeping electrical connector pins and nozzles free from damage. You must install the specific Fuel Injector part number and replace upper o-rings that are black while lower ones should be brown because they consist of dissimilar materials. An improper installation of the o-ring back up will create a vacuum leak because it functions as an essential tool for proper positioning of the lower o-ring. Engine oil should be applied to all fresh o-rings before the o-ring back up and lower and upper o-rings get installed onto the Fuel Injector assembly bearing its part number and build date code. The procedure continues with installing the Fuel Injector onto the Fuel Rail while using retaining clips for secure attachment finished by reattaching the Fuel Rail. The replacement of o-rings should happen simultaneously with any maintenance work on fuel injectors to stop the possibility of fuel spreading into engine oil.
