How to service the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) on MB4 and MB5 Manual Transmissions on 2000 Chevrolet Prizm?

The first step to service the Vehicle Speed Sensor vss on mb4 and mb5 manual transmissions is to unplug the vehicle Battery Cable. You must first disconnect the vss electrical connector before removing the retaining bolt and taking out the vss from the transaxle. Check the vss o-ring for damage and replace it if the inspection detects problems. Apply transjel transmission assembly lubricant to the vss o-ring and position the sensor into the transaxle case before securing it with the bolt and tightening to 6 nm (53 inch lbs.). Bring back the vss electrical connector and negative Battery Cable into place.
