How to replace the Power Steering Hose Return Line on 2001 Buick Park Avenue?

The first step to change the p/s return line includes vehicle lifting and support along with placing a drain pan underneath. The first step is taking off the heat shield from the power steering gear before removing the Power Steering Hose retainers which attach to the engine frame. The first step starts with disconnecting power steering return hose from power steering gear and Power Steering Pump then moving forward to release the frame retainers before extracting the return hose out of the vehicle. The first step of installation requires attaching the power steering return hose to the vehicle before installing it on the Power Steering Pump. After following the fastener notice in service precautions install the return hose to the power steering gear while tightening it to 27 nm (20 ft. Lbs.). Mount the Power Steering Hose retainers and bolts before tightening these parts to 6 nm (53 inch lbs.). The power steering gear heat shield must be reinstalled before lowering the vehicle while performing power steering system bleeding.
