2001 Chevrolet Corvette Brake Master Cylinder Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the brake master cylinder on 2001 Chevrolet Corvette?
A: When replacing the Brake Master Cylinder, the first step is to disconnect the electrical connector from the fluid sensor, then disconnect the brake pipes, and use a rubber cap or plug to cover the ending brake pipe fittings to stop brake fluid from leaking out. After that, put caps on the exposed brake pipe ends, loosen the mounting nuts for the master cylinder, and take it out. Remove all of the brake fluid from the master cylinder reservoir. Do a bench bleed on the master cylinder before fitting it to the Brake Booster, and then mount it with the nuts, tightened to 29 nm (21 ft. Lbs.). Take off the plugs from the brake pipes and screw them onto the ends of the master cylinder, using 24 nm (18 ft. Lbs. ) of torque. After that, connect the electrical connector to the Brake Fluid Level Sensor and bleed the brakes by following the correct procedure.
