2001 Chevrolet Venture Oil Cooler Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the oil cooler on 2001 Chevrolet Venture?
A: First empty the engine cooling system of its coolant before starting the Oil Cooler replace process. Raise and support the vehicle. First cut the knock sensor electrical connection and take out the Oil Filter. Start by removing the Oil Cooler outlet hose from the Oil Cooler and setting it to the side before you disconnect the Oil Cooler connector. Clean and inspect the engine block mating surface once you remove both the Oil Cooler inlet hose clamp and the Oil Cooler unit itself. Install the Oil Cooler while positioning its inlet hose clamp correctly along with the seal in position and coated engine oil. Tighten the Oil Cooler connector to a torque of 50 nm (37 ft. Lbs.) while you connect the Oil Cooler outlet hose to the Oil Cooler followed by reinstallation of the Oil Filter. The technician should reconnect the knock sensor electrical connector followed by lowering the vehicle before filling the engine coolant system reservoir. Engine oil top-ups might be needed followed by a leak test on the Oil Cooler system.
