    Q:
How to replace the oil cooler on Chevrolet Venture? Posted by Customer
    A:
Start by draining the engine coolant from the engine cooling system as a first step in cooler oil replacement. The vehicle should be lifted with proper equipment while using support. The knocking sensor electrical connector should be disconnected first while the Oil Filter needs to be removed next. The next step involves separating the Oil Cooler outlet hose from the Oil Cooler and setting it off to the side. The first step is to disconnect the Oil Cooler connector before removing both the Oil Cooler inlet hose clamp and the Oil Cooler from the system. The engine block mating surface needs cleaning before installing the new Oil Cooler and the inlet hose clamp which must be properly sealed with engine oil. Screw in the Oil Cooler connector while tightening it to 50 nm (37 ft. Lbs.). Reconnect the outlet hose to the Oil Cooler along with installation of the new Oil Filter and electrical connection to the Knock Sensor. The procedure involves lowering the car then adding engine coolant to the system followed by necessary engine oil addition before performing the Oil Cooler leak inspection.
