The inspection procedure for the Engine Mount begins with a vehicle elevate so the technician can check the bolts at three critical points like Engine Mount to engine, Engine Mount to bracket through-bolts, and Engine Mount frame bracket to frame. All missing or loose bolts must be replaced before moving forward. The square tab can be accessed by removing the Starter from its position on the right side of the engine. Apply the jack to the square tab at the engine block's rear then elevate the engine to remove weight from the mount so you can use a drop of tension on the rubber while inspecting the mount's behavior during the engine lift. Engine Mount replacement is necessary when heat check cracks reach the hard rubber part or when the rubber cushion becomes separated from the metal plate or shows a split directly through its surface. After completing Starter reinstallment you should lower the vehicle back to the ground level.
