2002 Buick Century Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the engine mount on 2002 Buick Century?
A: The first step to replace the Engine Mount requires you to disconnect the battery ground (negative) cable followed by removing the throttle body air inlet duct and Engine Mount struts. Begin by raising the vehicle properly before removing the three-way catalytic converter pipe from the right Exhaust Manifold exhaust. Pull out the wheel and tire from the right front position and detach the right splash shield next. The next step requires removal of Engine Mount lower nuts while lowering the vehicle. The engine support fixture helps lift the engine before the vehicle raises with proper support for installation. Unfasten the bolts securing the Engine Mount bracket to the Oil Pan while you detach the Engine Mount along with its bracket from one another through removal of the upper nuts. The installation process begins with mounting the Engine Mount on the Engine Mount bracket while paying attention to the fastener notice in service precautions and tightening the upper nuts to 47 nm (35 ft. Lbs.). You should attach the Engine Mount bracket to the Oil Pan along with the Engine Mount before installing and tightening the Engine Mount bracket-to-oil pan bolts to 58 nm (43 ft. Lbs.). Lower the vehicle while performing the engine installations before raising it to support the vehicle properly for mounting the Engine Mount lower nuts which should be torque to 43 nm (32 ft. Lbs.). The right vehicle splash shield and right front wheel assembly with tire must be installed simultaneously with the three-way catalytic converter pipe which needs to be attached to the right Exhaust Manifold. Conclude engine installation by lowering the vehicle then taking off the engine support device before putting the mount struts in position and reattaching the battery ground cable.
