2003 Buick Century Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the engine mount on 2003 Buick Century?
A: The first step to replace the Engine Mount starts with disconnecting the negative battery terminal followed by removing the throttle duct and engine struts. You should start by supporting the vehicle properly while raising it and proceed by taking out the three-way catalytic converter pipe from the rear Exhaust Manifold followed by removing the right tire along with its wheel and right engine splash shield. The next step involves taking off Engine Mount lower nuts before elevating the engine with an engine support fixture. You should first remove the Engine Mount bracket-to-oil pan bolts before taking out both the Engine Mount and the Engine Mount bracket. The installation process starts with the Engine Mount bracket installation while closely adhering to the fastener notice. Secure the Engine Mount bracket together with the Engine Mount to the Oil Pan by using Engine Mount bracket-to-oil pan bolts and tighten them to 58 nm (43 ft. Lbs.). After lowering the engine position the lower Engine Mount nuts before torquing them to 43 nm (32 ft. Lbs.). You should install the right engine splash shield then add the right front wheel and tire along with connecting the three-way catalytic converter pipe to the right (rear) Exhaust Manifold. End by lowering the vehicle before you take out the engine support fixture to add Engine Mount struts while reconnecting the battery ground cable.
