2002 Buick Rendezvous Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the engine mount on 2002 Buick Rendezvous?
A: Before starting the Engine Mount replacement you need to disconnect the negative cable from the battery followed by removing the throttle body air inlet duct and the Engine Mount struts. The maintenance procedure starts with raising and supporting the vehicle then proceeding to take off the three-way catalytic converter pipe from the Exhaust Manifold followed by the wheel and tire removal of the right front side and right engine splash shield. The lower nuts on the Engine Mount need removal while you should place a wooden block between the Oil Pan and jack support to avoid damage. A metal block resting on a utility stand will lift the vehicle engine while you should unscrew the bolts connecting the Engine Mount bracket and Oil Pan before disconnecting the bracket and mount. The following step involves removing the Engine Mount upper nuts before breaking off the Engine Mount from its bracket position. During installation begin with mounting the engine bracket onto the engine before securing the Engine Mount upper nuts to 53 nm (39 ft. Lbs.) torque. Put together the Engine Mount bracket with the Engine Mount to the Oil Pan and fasten the Engine Mount bracket-to-oil pan bolts at 58 nm (43 ft. Lbs.). Use the utility vehicle stand to lower the engine before you install the Engine Mount lower nuts at 47 nm (35 ft. Lbs.). Reposition the right engine splash shield along with the right front wheel alongside the tire followed by connecting the three-way catalytic converter pipe to the engine right side Exhaust Manifold. The last step involves lowering the vehicle before installing the Engine Mount struts while also inserting the throttle body air inlet duct followed by reconnecting the battery ground (negative) cable.
