2003 Buick Rendezvous Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the engine mount bracket on an AWD on 2003 Buick Rendezvous?
A: The replacement process of awd vehicle Engine Mount bracket begins with throttle body air inlet duct removal and Engine Mount strut detachment before vehicle elevation and support. Remove the catalytic converter pipe from the engine right side Exhaust Manifold before proceeding to uninstall the right front wheel without tire and the right engine splash shield. During Engine Mount bracket-to-Oil Pan bolt removal keep wooden blocks between the Oil Pan and jack support to protect against damages. The Oil Pan elevation process starts with inserting block wood between the Oil Pan and utility stand followed by stand-controlled lift of the Oil Pan. The procedure requires removal of Engine Mount upper nuts to detach the Engine Mount bracket from the Engine Mount. To install the Engine Mount bracket you should position it first onto the Engine Mount before torquing the Engine Mount upper nuts to 53 nm (39 ft. Lbs.). Lower the engine with the utility stand until you can insert the Engine Mount bracket to the Oil Pan. Secure the Engine Mount bracket-to-Oil Pan bolts to 58 nm (43 ft. Lbs.) while the upper bracket to engine block requires 85 nm (63 ft. Lbs.). The installation requires reattaching the right engine splash shield together with the right front wheel and tire afterwards hook up the catalytic converter pipe to the engine right side Exhaust Manifold before lowering the vehicle to reinstall the Engine Mount struts and throttle body air inlet duct.
