How to replace the tailgate latch on 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche 2500?

In order to change the tailgate latch, raise the endgate and loosen the handle bolts and then lower it. Take out the handle bezel and loosen the linkage rods. Use one hand to hold the endgate, and one hand to take away the cables and latch assembly then attach the new latch and make sure that all the parts are connected.
