• Q: How to replace the inlet oil cooler hose on 2002 Chevrolet Venture?

  A: To replace the oil cooler inlet line, you will have to drain the engine coolant from the cooling system and uplift the car to a working position. Remove the knock sensor electrical connector and change the Oil Filter. Next, you should disconnect the oil cooling outlet hose from the oil cooler removing the oil cooler connector. Take off oil cooler inlet hose clamp and oil cooler and remove the oil cooler inlet hose clamp and the oil cooler inlet hose from the Oil Cooler Hose fitting. In case it is required, unscrew the Oil Cooler Hose fitting. For installation, if the Oil Cooler Hose fitting was removed earlier, then install it and tighten it to 19 nm (14 ft. Lbs.), please. Mount the oil cooler inlet pipe clamp and the oil cooler inlet hose to the Oil Cooler Hose fitting making sure the oil cooler seal is in and it is coated with engine oil. Install the oil cooler connector and tighten it to the 50 nm (37 ft. Lbs.) and attach the oil cooler outlet hose on the oil cooler. Replace the Oil Filter, reconnect the knock sensor electrical connector, lower the vehicle, and top off the cooling system with engine coolant. Top up engine oil if needed and check the oil cooler for leaks.
