2003 Chevrolet Corvette Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Coolant Temperature Sensor on 2003 Chevrolet Corvette?
A: First of all, turn OFF ignition and jack up the vehicle with the follow-up of the Vehicle Lifting precautions. Drain the engine coolant below the ECT sensor, and then lower the vehicle. Remove the harness connector from the ECT sensor and remove the sensor with being careful not to damage it as it can interfere with the fuel control system. For installation, the ECT sensor threads should be treated with the sealer (P/N 12346004 or equivalent), and in replacing components, ensure that they are of the correct part number for the purpose. With any coating on components be careful since they can affect final torque and operation. Mount the ECT sensor and fasten it to 20 N.m (15 lb ft). The ECT sensor electrical connectors should be connected, and the engine coolant should be refilled.
