2003 Chevrolet Corvette Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the MAP Sensor on 2003 Chevrolet Corvette?
A: The manifold absolute pressure sensor replacement will begin by removing both engine sight shields along with the Fuel Rail assembly. The pcv heat exchange cable fastener needs removal before you can reach the MAP Sensor area which only demands limited access rather than full intake manifold removal. The pcv hose requires removal from its position at both the Throttle Body and the right bank port before you can detach the mounting bracket assembly. Separate the MAP Sensor harness connector before pulling the sensor forward to clear it from the retainers with a lift motion. After inserting the new MAP Sensor down into the retainer, check the MAP Sensor seal for damage while lightly coating it with clean engine oil before mounting the sensor. After reconnecting the MAP Sensor harness connecter you should position the pcv hose assembly for reinstallation before slipping it into the mounting brackets. Republish the pcv hose to the right bank port and to the Throttle Body before tightening the pcv heat exchange cable fastener to 12 n.m (106 lb in). The last step includes fitting both the Fuel Rail and engine sight shields back into place.
