You need to detach the left sound insulator before the stop lamp switch replacement process starts. Twist the stop lamp/ABS/shift lock switch counterclockwise and pull it out before disconnecting the electrical cable in place. Insert the stop lamp switch into its retainer then watch for automatic self-adjustment as the twist lock switch type needs no manual adjustment. Insert the switch past the retainer and push the button down until it rests at the switch base. Turn the switch clockwise until it clicks into place. Secure all wires to the stop lamp switch before adjusting it and positioning back the sound insulator.
