How to replace the Camshaft Position Sensor on 2004 Buick LeSabre?

The replacement process for the camshaft position (CMP) sensor starts with coolant recovery reservoir removal together with the Drive Belt removal. The first step for sensor replacement includes disconnecting the electrical connector from the Camshaft Position Sensor before removing the retaining screw for the cmp sensor. Remove the cmp sensor from the position where it attaches to the engine front cover. Install the cmp sensor onto the engine front cover while following the fastener notice in service precautions. Fasten the retaining bolt of the cmp sensor securely to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Reestablish connection of the electrical connector to the Camshaft Position Sensor before reinstalling the Drive Belt and the coolant recovery reservoir.
