When installing the new ECT sensor, apply threads with sealer GM P/N 9985253 or an equivalent to the threads, after which we must install the sensor and force it to 20 Nm (15 lb ft). Solder the ECT sensor harness connector to ECT sensor, take off the engine cover for refill the cooling system, and finally replace the engine cover.
