Asthe ECT sensor installation begins coat the threads with sealer GM P/N 9985253 or equivalent before tightening to 20 N.m (15 lb ft). After connecting the ECT sensor harness and topping off coolant you should reinstall the engine cover. Keep careful contact with the coolant sensor because any damage will negatively impact the fuel control system and always refer to the Component Fastener Tightening Notice during installation.
