How to service the Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch for the computer on Chevrolet Astro?

Service the Coolant Temperature Sensor/switch (For Computer); disconnect the negative Battery Cable and remove engine cover. Do not open or remove the Radiator Cap or surge tank cap while the engine is hot so as not to be burnt by scalding fluid and steam. Lower the coolant pressure and drain the cooling system down to the level of the sensor. Remove the ect sensor harness connector. For installation, make the threads of a new ect sensor by applying gm p/n9985253 while doing the same for a similar sensor. Install the sensor to the engine and tighten it to 20 n.m (15-lb ft). Connect ect sensor harness connector, refill the cooling system and install the engine cover and reconnect the negative Battery Cable.
