How to replace the Throttle Position Sensor on 2004 Chevrolet Impala?

The first steps for changing a throttle position (TP) sensor involve removing the fuel injector sight shield and disconnecting the tp sensor electrical connector. After disconnecting the electrical connector from the tp sensor you must remove its two mounting screws before taking out the sensor. The tp sensor requires positioning on the Throttle Body assembly followed by application of thread-locking compound gm p/n 12345493 (Canadian P/N 10953488) or equivalent to the screws. Secure the 2 tp sensor screws with a torque of 2 n.m until they reach 18 lb in. Connect the tp sensor electrical connector before putting back the fuel injector sight shield.
