How to replace the rear crankshaft seal on 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo?

Start crankshaft rear oil seal replacement by removing the engine Flywheel with caution to the crankshaft sealing surface. A flat-bladed tool helps extract the crankshaft rear oil seal through the dust lip while angling the instrument to the crankshaft end followed by additional removal rounds if needed. Apply engine oil to the new crankshaft rear oil seal and mount it onto the j 34686 rear main seal installer (J 34686). Install the j 34686 onto the crankshaft rear while tightening its screws by hand to position the seal directly. Install the seal to the crankshaft. Tighten the wing nut on the the j 34686 until it reaches the bottom position. After removing the j 34686 from the crankshaft you can re-install the engine Flywheel.
