How to Replace an A/C Hose in a Compressor Hose Assembly on 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt?

Recovering refrigerant and raising the vehicle should be followed by hose assembly replacement. Unplug the electrical connector from the pressure transducer followed by removing the compressor and condenser hose assembly bolt from the compressor and discarding the hose assembly together with the sealing washers. The compressor hose must be detached from the condenser while discarding the seal washer before lowering the vehicle to separate the compressor hose from the evaporator hose a second time also discarding its seal washer. Installation requires new sealing washers on both compressor and condenser hose fittings and afterward the A/C Compressor and condenser hose assembly should be connected to the compressor where the bolt needs to be tightened to 20 n.m (15 lb ft). Replace the compressor hose sealing washer and fasten the hose to the evaporator through a nut while tightening it to 20 n.m (15 lb ft). Carefully lift the vehicle once more allowing you to install the second seal washer to the compressor hose after which you should secure both hose ends with their bolt at 20 n.m (15 lb ft). Connect the pressure transducer electrical connector before lowering the vehicle until complete refrigerant system leak testing is performed with the halogen leak detector (J 39400-A).
