The first step in replacing the rear transmission mount involves raising and supporting the vehicle. Start by removing the rear transaxle mount through bolt then the heat shield and finally the rear transaxle mount to frame bolts and rear transaxle mount. Install the rear transaxle mount by positioning it alongside the heat shield then manually start the bolts while following appropriate fastener procedures. Tighten the rear transaxle mount to frame bolts to 60 nm (44 ft. Lbs.)use the clockwise rotation of the rear transaxle mount heat shield until its tab fits on the mount bracket. Loosen the through bolt on the rear transaxle mount to enable better settling of front and rear transmission mounts before tensioning the through bolts. Begin by loosening the through bolt located on the front trans mount. Tighten the transmission mount through bolts in the following order: rear bolt to 100 nm (74 ft. Lbs.) the front transaxle mount through bolt requires 100 nm (74 foot pounds) torque while the front mount through bolt demands 100 nm (74 foot pounds). Finally, lower the vehicle.
