How to replace the lower control arm on 2006 GMC Envoy?

The first step involves raising and supporting the vehicle before removing both the tire and wheel assembly. Use the steering linkage and tie rod puller (J24319-B) to unfasten the outer tie rod from the Steering Knuckle after the outer tie rod retaining nut removal. First disconnect the lower Control Arm stabilizer shaft link by removing its retaining nut and removing the link with its washer from the Control Arm. The shock module yoke disconnects from the lower Control Arm through the removal of the lower mounting nut using the steering linkage and tie rod puller (J24319-B). Use the Ball Joint remover (J43631) to release the lower Ball Joint from Steering Knuckle after removing the attachment of the lower Ball Joint retaining nut. Next remove the lower Control Arm to lower Control Arm Bracket mounting nuts and bolts and carefully note the bolt directions required for reinstallation. Disengage the lower Control Arm from its bracket connection by moving it at a 45-degree angle outward and downward but maintain the spacer position on the front Control Arm Bracket front bushing during vehicle lower Control Arm removal for 4wd models only. To install the lower Control Arm, first attach the Ball Joint stud to the Steering Knuckle before pivoting the Control Arm upward toward the lower Control Arm Bracket. Next, fit the bolts and nuts into the lower Control Arm Bracket before tightening the nuts to 130 nm (96 ft. Lbs.). Proper alignment of the lower Control Arm bushings depends on exact positioning of the lower Control Arm parallel to the brake bracket when installing and tightening the assembly. Fasten the shock module yoke to the lower Control Arm before installing its lower mounting nut and tightening to 110 nm (81 ft. Lbs.). Secure the lower Ball Joint retaining nut to 110 nm (81 ft. Lbs.) before installing the stabilizer shaft link along with a crucial washer of hardened steel with felt lining into the lower Control Arm. Begin installation by tightening the stabilizer shaft link retaining nut to 155 nm (114 ft. Lbs.) and finish with the outer tie rod to the Steering Knuckle connection andouter tie rod retaining nut tightening at 45 nm (33 ft. Lbs.). Install the tire then wheel before lowering the vehicle for front wheel alignment testing.
