- Q: How to service and repair the Rocker Shaft Spring Kit and Valve Stem Oil Seal on 2007 Cadillac CTS?A: You must first eliminate the Starter motor to handle valve guide seal service work. En 46106 (Flywheel Holding Tool) installation ensures Crankshaft control which prevents needing removal and sequencing of the entire Camshaft timing system. After removing the camshafts and rocker arms you need to take the Spark Plug from the related cylinder. Put the j 39313 (Spark Plug Port Adapter) into the cylinder opening and join it to a compressed air supply. Set the en 46110 (On-Vehicle Valve Spring Compressor) directly above the cylinder and start threading its valve spring compressor nut. Turn off the valve keepers so you can loosen the valve spring compressor nut. After that, remove both the valve spring retainer and springs. Install the en 46116 valve stem seal remover/installer to take out the valve stem seal. First apply en 46116 to put new valve stem seals in place before adding valve spring and valve spring retainer. Put the en 46110 back onto the valve spring space then screw on its compressor nut before adding valve spring keepers. Turn off power to disconnect the j 39313 from its compressed air connection and take it out. Put back all spark plugs, rocker arms, and camshafts then replace the en 46106 fixing piece before putting in the Starter motor.
