How to replace the thermostat (LC3) on 2007 Cadillac XLR?

In order to replace the Thermostat (LC3), initially, drain the cooling system and take off the air cleaner assembly. Then out-fit the Radiator Hose and heater hose from the Thermostat Housing, then unbolt the Thermostat Housing and take out the Thermostat Housing and Thermostat out of the water housing. Remove the seal ring and extract the Thermostat. In the case of installing the Thermostat Housing, clean the seal surfaces on the Thermostat Housing as well as on the water housing; then, install the Thermostat into the Thermostat Housing while placing a new seal on the Thermostat Housing. Reattach the Thermostat Housing with Thermostat and seal to the water housing, making sure to follow the fastener notice then install the Thermostat Housing bolting and secure it to the body with 10 n.m (89 lb in). Finally, reconnect the heater hose and Radiator Hose to Thermostat Housing, re-install the air cleaner assembly and fill in the system of cooling.
