2007 Chevrolet Equinox Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the A/C Hose Assembly on 2007 Chevrolet Equinox?
A: A proper method for recovering refrigerant should be used before replacing the compressor hose assembly. The left headlamp removal along with the compressor hose retainer nut from the battery box constitutes the first step. The evaporator outlet hose nut requires detachment from the outlet hose before you remove it from the compressor hose. Apply a protective cap to the evaporator outlet hose to stop contamination. Proceed to disconnect the condenser nut which leads to the compressor hose nut after wrapping the condenser to ensure no contamination occurs. To initiate work start by elevating the vehicle then remove the electrical connector from the pressure transducer followed by loosening the compressor hose nut at the compressor before compressor hose extraction. Remove both sealing washers that exist on your compressor hose. The installation process begins by removing the protective cap from the compressor hose end before you install new seal washers for attaching the compressor hose to the compressor while tightening the nut to 20 n.m (15 lb ft). Plug the electrical connector to the pressure transducer while lowering the vehicle before mounting the compressor hose. Attach the evaporator outlet hose through the compressor hose while using a new sealing washer after securing its nut with 20 n.m (15 lb ft). Secure a new sealing washer to the compressor hose which leads to the condenser then attach both pieces of tubing before torquing the nut to 20 n.m (15 lb ft). Finishing the repair requires fastening the compressor hose retainer nut to the battery box with 9 n.m torque while also tightening it to 80 lb in then installing the left headlamp and charging the a/c system before leak testing with the halogen leak detector (J 39400-A).
